Specialties

Just like physicians and nurses, CMAs can specialize in any practice area. It may require additional training or education, but it would help you narrow the focus of your career path. Some options include, but are not limited to, internal medicine, cardiology, digestive health, and so much more. Before deciding on a specific specialty, look into the specific requirements and available positions in your area.

Advancement

If you want to get some hands on experience under your belt before moving up in your career, becoming a certified medical assistant may give you an advantage.
